Generative expand, powered by Adobe Firefly, is a super cool AI tool that lets you make your images bigger and add new stuff to them, all using the Crop tool.
Basically, with Generative Expand, you can stretch your canvas and resize any picture you bring into Photoshop. This feature saves you a bunch of time and steps to get the look you want.
Once you have selected the crop tool, make the canvas bigger and click “generate” in the tools at the bottom to fill the empty area. You don’t need to add any text in the prompt area, it will use information in the photo.
From the properties panel, choose the variations you like.
You can also use a reference image. In the Contextual Task Bar or Properties panel, upload an image. You can pair this with descriptive text to get exactly what you want.
Additionally, you can select your favorite variation and then use the Generate Similar button from the three dots in the Properties panel.
