David Nelson

David Nelson is a media arts and production major and political science minor at the University of Kansas. David specializes in audio, video and photo production and is available Mondays 9:30am – 12:30pm, Wednesdays 12:00pm – 3:00pm and Fridays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm by walk-in or appointment.  

David’s experience in photo and video comes as a communications specialist for the Kansas Army National Guard, being trained at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort Meade, Maryland. His works include photo and video products for units such as the 105th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment and the 35th Infantry Division, where he’s covered a variety of different military training, exercises, and subject matter expert exchanges across the state of Kansas, the United States, Kuwait and Jordan.  

David’s interest in audio started when he was 14, where he was first introduced to the world of audio production and engineering. Since then, he has gone on to expand his knowledge in audio, having been trained at DINFOS for broadcast journalism, hosting Breakfast for Beatlovers under his name DJ Davey and being credited as a songwriter and producer for music released under his name davey and the Kansas City art and music collective Noise Complaint.
